  Here's a picture of Jeta pregnant. April 11, 2011
She will be x-rayed next week to see how many puppies she might have.

 March 26, 2011

Ms. Stephanie and her co-breeder, Mary Ann Fletcher, of Chris Mill Labradors are expecting a litter around April 25.   Ms. Fletcher's dog, Jeta, was bred with Turf.    Jeta, a beautiful therapy English labrador therapy dog, is from Holly Springs, NC, and Turf, a champion English labrador, is from Michigan.  During the week of March 21, Jeta had an ultrasound which showed at least 6 all black puppies!  You will be able to pick the second puppy --- either female or male.  Your puppy should be able to go home the weekend of June 25th at 8 1/2 weeks old.  Congratulations!

Congratulations on your expected puppy!  I will post pictures of Jeta as soon as I get some.

Love,

Mom

April 20, 2011 -- Email from Mary Ann

Hi everyone,
I just got back from the vet and there are at least 7 or 8 puppies. It was hard to tell just how many Jeta has because she is short coupled. The vet said it possible that there are more there. They couldn't get her entire belly in the x-ray.
Poor Jeta just wants to lay on the cool kitchen floor, eat and sleep. She's gained 21# so far and I have to increase her food even more for the remaining 5 days. Bimbo city here we come!! :)
Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter and as soon as the puppies are born, I'll let you know.

Mary Ann

Jeta delivered 10 puppies (4 girls and 6 boys) from 5:54 am until after 2 pm today!  Jeta and the puppies are all doing well.  Jeta is nursing and resting with her new family.

News from the puppy pen - We have all doubled our weight in the past week - hooray!! Our human mom told us that was just fantastic. We really do love to eat all the time. Mama Jeta has been great to us but we don't think she as enthusiastic about feeding us this week as she was last week. Every opportunity she gets to go downstairs with the other dogs she flies out of the room. Mind you she never lets us go hungry! Human mom says we go on a feeding frenzy to feed every time Jeta gets in the whelping box with us.
We are making a lot more noise now and moving around a lot more too. Next week we will be getting some supplemental rice baby food made with goat's milk to help mama Jeta out. She eats 10 cups of food a day plus 16 ounces of plain yogurt and treats and it is just enough to keep us and her going.
Human mom sent some pictures with this email and we hope you enjoy them! We should all open our eyes by the end of this week, beginning of next so we can't see the pictures until them.
Time to go on a feeding frenzy again. Bye till next time.

Hi Genny and Legare,
Wow, what a week it has been. We've gotten much bigger - we do like to eat, most of us have opened our eyes and a couple of us have gotten our sea legs and are wobbling around the whelping box. We still fall over on our sides but we get back up and try again. Before long we'll be running around. We love "Mama J" so much that on Mother's Day some of us decided it was time to potty without her assistance - now that's progress. Aside from the milestones we've reached and eating, sleeping, twitching in our sleep, making weird noises in our sleep, and exercising our vocal cords from time to time, that's about it. Time to nap so we can learn more stuff this week.
Human mom has attached two pictures "Food Line" so you can see how orderly we line up when it's time to eat and "Sleeping Puppies" so you can see how much we've grown. We hope you enjoy them. Till next week.....

Hi Y'all,
We just found out we're from NC and need to bark with a southern drawl so woof'all! We had a very busy week last week.
- All of us opened our eyes and we can see now.
- Everyone learned to walk. We were shaky for a while but pretty good now.
- We got to eat some rice baby food made with goat's milk
- Some of us have started to climb out of the whelping box!! Let the adventure begin.
- We have also really found out how well our lungs work especially in unison. We love to sing to our moms!!!!
- We recognize Mama J and H Mama when they come in the room and are really excited to see them.
- We're getting very big and starting to play with each other too. Most time we just lick each other's face or pull the other puppy's ears but nothing hurtsYET.
Our teeth are starting to come in and H Mama has cut our front nails 3x already. She said to get ready because she's going to cut our back nails this week - oooooooo!!
Some pictures are attached so you can see how much we've been growing and what we're getting into. Hope you enjoy them.

Hi Genny, Legare, Genevieve,
We're sorry we didn't get this out yesterday but our human mom has been very busy these past two days with what she calls appointments and errands. If we had thumbs, we would have typed this up ourselves. The past week has been very eventful - all of our ears have opened and we can hear now, we all now have teeth, like to play with one another and the toys in our pen and are eating a lot more puppy mush. We are all pretty stable on our feet now but still fall down once in a while. We walk, run, and hop now. H mom likes to laugh at us a lot when we run and hop saying that we are "too cute" when we do it. We did get our back nails cut last week and it wasn't bad at all. We're still not too happy about getting our front nails cuts.
Mama J only comes in our pen to feed us now because she says we need to learn to be on our own more so we're ready for our new homes. She leaves after about 20 minutes and boy do we make a racket when she does. She just keeps on going downstairs and we eventually settle down after we're done howling for a while.
We had a couple of visitors, big and little people. They've all been very nice and pet us really gentle. The little people are the best because they smell like food a lot of the time even though they never have any food to give us.
We are going to move to new digs this coming weekend. H mom is going to move us downstairs so that we are more in the mainstream of the house activities so as she puts it "get a lot more socializing" and used to a lot more noise so we make good puppies as we get older.
There are no pictures this week because the IT guys messed up mom's computer again and she can't upload any pictures from the camera. She used some really strange words when that happened!!! She promises to send pictures as soon as it is fixed.
Love,
The Chrismill Ten

Woof, Woof to the Hay Family,
We're now 5 weeks old and are really getting around now. We are playing with one another and all of our toys. Sometimes we think that our brothers and sisters are toys and pull ears and other parts of the body and boy do we scream. Sometimes H mom needs to step in and break us up, but we really don't mean anything by it. Mom has placed newspaper in our pen and most of us went right to it to do our business. We do, however, like to make a mess whenever we can.
We are now eating all puppy food that is just soaked in warm water and just love it. Mama J only comes in the pen two or three times a day and leaves as fast as she can. Our teeth seem to bother her but we have no idea why - our teeth don't bother us!!
We're growing like crazy and range in weight from 7 lbs. 4 oz. to 10 lbs. 5 oz.
Pictures are attached this week.

Hi Hay Family,

We had another momentous week. Our big event this week was going outside on Saturday for the very first time. H Mom put us out at 7:00 AM before the sun came over the fence. At first we weren’t too sure but after a few minutes we loved it. There was a lot of room for us to run around and get rid of some of our energy. We also had a new texture under our feet and saw many different things. We came back in around 8:00 AM because of the sun but didn’t really want to.

We’ve started to eat everything in our food bowls and not wasting a tiny morsel. We’re really starting to play with our toys and not sleep quite as much, except on days when something special tires us out like being outside on Saturday.

H Mom took pictures of us outside and her friend Stephanie came over on Sunday and took pictures of our faces too.
Mama J is doing great and getting her girlish figure back. H Mom said she needs to let us grow up some more again and won’t be coming in with us anymore. We really need to concentrate on eating our puppy food, drinking water and trying to relax by ourselves. It’s been a little hard but we’re really getting the hang of it and most of us calm down very quickly and go to sleep.

Legare, orange boy and white girl posed for side-by-side pictures. White girl only looks a little bigger because of the picture taker!!

Until next week, we remain,

The Chrismill Ten

Hi Genny & family,

This has been our final week together and have made H mom work hard already and it's only Tuesday. Two of our brothers and one of our sisters went home yesterday. H mom can't believe how easy it is with only seven of us. Mama J has been playing with each of us individually and we really like being with her. We've tried to nurse but can't figure out why we don't get any more milk and she jumps on the sofa or lays completely on her belly whenever we try to nurse! We also love chasing the other big dogs in the house. They are all afraid of us because we're so small. H mom just laughs like crazy when we chase the big dogs.

The rest of us can't wait for our families to take us to our new, forever homes. H mom keeps telling us that we will all be gone by the end of the week and she is so happy to have us going to such wonderful homes and hopes that we're good for our new family. BTY we get cranky when we're tired and that's the time H mom needs to play referee (at least until we settle down and go to sleep). We still sleep quite a bit during the day and when we're awake, we're really awake. We like to play with our nylabones, play tug with the toys that have no stuffing in them, roll the clutch ball around and then sleep on our stuffed pigs (but only the stuffed pig when mom is watching).

We've attached a picture of our last puppy pile as we end the "News from the Chrismill Ten Puppy Pen".

H mom said to remind everyone to send her pictures and updates of how we are progressing. She's told us that she'll never forget any of us and plans to keep tabs on us too so that means she'll never forget any of you either and the wonderful homes you are providing to us.

Until the next Chrismill litter .......
